Tredegar
Development Trust
Tredegar
Development Trust (TDT), based at Aneurin Bevan House, 40 Castle Street,
Tredegar, was set up in the mid 1990s to help in the regeneration of
the town by creating new opportunities for all age groups. The
Trust is a not-for-profit organisation and a registered charity.
So
if you would like to start up your own business, get more qualifications
for a better job; learn how to use a computer, train as gardener or
if you're looking for someone to mow your lawn; you might even be a
wannabe pop idol looking for somewhere for your band to practise, the
Trust can offer help through different schemes.
One
of its 2005 projects is to secure the future of Number 10, The Circle,
the offices which housed the Tredegar Workmen's Medical Aid Society,
the model for the National Health Service. Following public consultation
about its future use, TDT aims to apply for Lottery/Heritage grants
to restore the building so that it can be used by the community.

and development of facilities for all. This is one of the newest of the
Trust's community projects and will focus on the two woodland sites in
need of a sustainable environmental management programme at Cefn Golau

community use in the spirit of community ownership and sustaining community
life. We will offer:

Participation by local interest groups, residents etc. to be actively
encouraged and involved in the decision making process for the planning
and delivery of the project.

The participation of local people in the delivery of the programme
will be fundamental to the success of the programme.
-
Opportunities for accredited and informal learning and training in
woodland management skills etc.
